Good day.

I replaced the entire sensor assembly for rain, light, and humidity on my Golf 7.

Same spare part number 5Q0955547 and new gel pad. Now, VCDS is showing an incorrect installation position.

But you can't really install it incorrectly.

Who can help?

Hello,

Please perform a vehicle scan.

Best regards, Rainer.

Good evening.

Is this about your Golf 7, manufactured in April 2016?

Then you will need sensor 5Q0 955 547 A.

Did you install a new OEM part, or a used sensor?

Have you compared the encodings, or have you encoded the sensor?

When installing, it is important to ensure that the coupling film is mounted without any inclusions or bubbles, otherwise error messages may occur.

Please set up the automatic scan with the specific error codes.

Best regards,

Michael.

The sensor ending in "A" is also no longer current. It is still listed with "A" in the spare parts catalog, but when you try to access it, you get a message saying that it has now been replaced by sensor 5Q0 955 547 B.

PS: I have received this same error message intermittently over several years. This year, the sensor finally failed, and I replaced it with a new one that has the suffix "B". It now works perfectly in my 2014 Golf.

Regards,
Guste.
