VCDS AutoScan - Vehicle selection no longer working

Hello everyone,

So far, I have always entered "8u" as the vehicle type for an Audi Q3 8U and then started the Autoscan. "For a few months now (since some update after version 23.3.1.0, possibly since version 23.11.0.1 for me), this pre-selection feature has stopped working. I have to leave the field blank and use the automatic detection feature, which then also recognizes '8U' as '8U0'."
Please refer to the screenshots in the attachment.

For a Skoda Fabia with license plate NJ5, the same thing happens, so it's not related to the 8U .

Does anyone recognize this behavior? Am I doing something wrong lately, or has something changed with VCDS?

You're welcome. The same phenomenon occurs with the current English version (24.5.0). I've documented the whole thing in a (unlisted) video on YouTube:

Yes, awesome, that's the way it should be. I'm just surprised that this hasn't been noticed until now.

It will probably take some time before the next release is translated into German, or what are the typical release cycles like?

Irregularly But it should still be this year.
