Hello. I recently had problems with the V158 temperature control motor on the left side. It was just making a rattling noise and causing temperature issues. I removed it, cleaned the potentiometer, but then nothing worked. The adaptation values for all the flaps were showing values around 30-230. So, I ordered a new flap from eBay (from China). Today I installed it, performed the basic settings, and the flap is now moving from its full open to full closed position. Unfortunately, still.
01809 - Temperature flap control motor, left side (V158)).

No learning values are stored.
When the flap is moved back and forth, the values are 86 - 186. Is it possible to manually enter the learning values in VCDS?
Thank you for your help.

Since many people had read it but didn't have an answer, I continued to search online.
The servomotors are equipped with potentiometers that have different operating ranges (non-linear and non-logarithmic). There are 4.7k potentiometers with operating ranges of approximately 150 degrees (for the temperature flaps and defrost) and approximately 300 degrees (for recirculation and central ventilation).
The resistance remains constant in front of or behind the work area.
"With my old servo motor, the temperature range was around 140 degrees, while with the Chinese model, it was about 300 degrees. That's why the values were incorrect and the learned settings weren't being saved. I've now found a source for the potentiometers."
Search on Amazon for FP01-WDK02 (5 pieces for about 7 euros). These are V3 versions with a 180-degree range that work in the temperature and defrost flaps. The learning values are old: 30-230, and the learning values with 180 degrees are 55-190, and these values are saved. If you still have older stepper motors with a potentiometer, specifically the v2.1 variant (from before approximately 2004), you can also install the v3 potentiometers there. Instructions - searches for "Poti group order" - A2-freun page 5.
There are pictures showing the renovation process. But pay attention to the work area and apply a generous amount of white grease to the gears and worm screws.
My stepper motor is now working properly again. Adjusting the learning values as I suggested in my first post probably requires reprogramming the climate control unit. I hope it helped some people.
Sylvia.
